Take control in our comfortable, positive & supportive environment

At the Sutton and Croydon Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre we firmly believe that exercise, under the supervision of a neurological physiotherapist, is the key to successfully managing your MS. Our staff, who are experts in their field, encourage a proactive, informed attitude to the problems associated with MS, making the most of people’s abilities by showing them how they can keep active and prevent unnecessary secondary complications.

Physiotherapy
Moving the body according to it's design is vital to health. We will help you make the most of your abilities despite your MS.

Counselling
Talking 'it' over with an impartial professional will help to make sense of any fears or troubles you may have.

Massage
Get those stiff muscles moving and release those stored toxins. There is nothing else like it.

Our senior physiotherapist assesses all new members allowing time to discuss their particular needs in a sensitive and confidential environment. The positive, supportive atmosphere of our Centre provides a place where you can enjoy social contact with other people in a similar situation, whilst learning how to take some control of your MS.

At every level we like to make exercise fun and “use it or lose it” is a phrase often heard in our very active, well-equipped gym! With MS it is vital to remind affected nerves how to send messages, whilst also taking fatigue into account. Our tailored classes along with specialist “patterning” exercises constantly reinforce these messages, encouraging normal movement and helping to improve walking, balance, co-ordination and core stability.

Yoga
Flexibility and breathing is at the core of our lives. This Eastern practice makes you feel alive, energised and relaxed.

Pilates
Core strength and toning exercise classes.

Shiatsu
Working on similar lines to accupuncture but using only finger pressure and stretching Shiatsu holistically works on your mind body and soul.

Reflexology
Sitting in a chair having your feet massaged can positivly influence your mind and whole body... it's proper addictive and sssoooooo relaxing.

For wheelchair-users there is an appropriate exercise class working the upper body, followed by a session in the gym using specialist equipment such as MotoMeds and standing frames. Our team of physios provide individual treatment programmes as well as practical advice on ways to improve transfers and general independence.

Additional therapies include massage from a qualified sports massage therapist, counselling and yoga. We even have a beautician available to help people with MS feel good about themselves!

Why not give us a call and make that first visit? Don’t put it off ~ you need to get active now and we will make it fun!

Group Support
Does what it says on the tin. Come along, you're not the only one with MS and there is power in sharing.

Meditation
There are many forms meditation can take. Used by business leaders, monks & warriors it can help you in many ways!
